until they took a leap of faith.

Hitomi and EJ first met in the Bay Area, where their shared love of art and creativity quickly became a foundation of their relationship. After a few years together, they moved to Chicago, carrying that spirit with them. It was there that an idea they began for friends blossomed into the vision that would become Ox & Tiger.

Cooking became their way to weave together their heritages and create flavors shaped by their life experiences. They’ve always believed food brings people together—family or new friends alike—and they let each dish spark memories worth sharing.
